In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats is a one-hour interactive VR experience that drops you into the acid house rave scene of 1989. You're chasing down an illegal all-night warehouse party, caught between promoters, pirate radio, the police and the crowd, as the music and the moment build around you. Directed by Darren Emerson, produced by East City Films.
It has won awards at IDFA, the VR Awards and Adelaide Fringe, and toured to festivals and venues across the world.
I worked as a Producer and Production Manager with East City Films to create the location based experience (LBE) installation version of this virtual reality project. Overseeing all installation elements (set design, technical equipment procurement, installation design, health and safety management plans, crew and front of house).
I oversaw the project’s premiere as part of Coventry City of Culture in 2022 and worked with partner venues and festivals to create touring versions of the project in the following locations;
